Your Time with God Matters

April 30, 2017

"Don't shortchange your time with God. He is able to bend time in your favor when you spend time in His presence."

Many of us keep a tight schedule. There's the everyday juggle between kids practices, working full time in our careers, hitting the cardio at the gym, and then having to come home and prepare dinner for the family. Our lives can become quickly consumed with multiple tasks that keep us busy. With that said, our bible study and prayer time can often take a backseat while being engaged with the busyness of life. This breaks the fellowship with our Heavenly Father and it becomes even harder to hear His voice. A lack of personal time with God wrecks havoc on our lives

which make it easier to slip back into a sinful lifestyle.

Don't allow your Bible study time to take a backseat. Instead, set a strong commitment for uninterrupted time with God each day to be aware of His voice leading and guiding you. My time with God usually takes place in the early morning hours when everyone is still asleep. This helps me to trust and to lean on Him for the direction for the day. Each day of Bible study time is different. What He has for me today probably won't be the same for next week. That's why it's important to seek Him daily. Don't shortchange or cheat God on your time with Him.

Seek to have personal time with God so that He may give you the direction that is needed to fully direct your day. It's well worth the sacrifice to be in His presence.

2 Timothy 2:15 Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
